*By the way, if you haven't heard... the end of the world is supposed to happen this Saturday.

*The "rapture" has been predicted hundreds of times and every single prediction has been wrong. I still remember the book, "88 Reasons Why the Rapture will Be in 1988". That book was the start of my cynicism regarding end times.

*If you grew up in the church world,  you'll appreciate the fear that all virgins go through when thinking about Christ's return. It's reflected in a prayer... "Please Lord, don't come back until I get married!"

*I worked at a church once that put out a tape telling people where Bibles were in case of the rapture. This is just one of many weird things I've seen associated with end times.

*I'm not in danger of freaking out about the end of the world, but I am in danger of becoming apathetic in how I live today. Here is a great verse I try to align my life to...

"...The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8)
